Inked Up Barbie Causing Controversy
The new tattooed Barbie doll with her trendy leopard leggings, pink bob hair style, stylish Goth inspired tee, and some beautiful permanent tattoos on her chest and neck has some parents in an uproar. This newest Barbie is not going over well with many parents on both sides of the issue, being a role model or being free to express oneself.

I for one think parents are going overboard on this issue. Tattooing has been around for eons and in the last decade has fast become a beautiful art form. I agree that some people do go overboard with tattooing their bodies, but that is their choice.
There are some very beautiful tattoo artists out there that never cease to amaze me with the awesome inking that they do on all parts of the body creating masterpieces of art.
Look around Mom…….almost everyone you see has a tattoo now a days and I wouldn’t doubt if half the moms that are complaining about this edgy doll have a tattoo themselves.
Your seven year old isn’t going to run out and get a tattoo because her Barbie doll has one. She will have to wait until she is of legal age to get one and by then who knows what the new trendy style will be.
The doll reflectes modern fashion and pop culture.
Just look at Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry or Rihanna, these pop stars have tattoos and wear wigs and crazy clothes all the time. This is pop culture the way it really is. Barbie is a toy and is not raising your daughters……..you as a responsible parent are. So lighten up Mom, it’s just a toy doll.
