When packing for an Island vaction or cruise, keep it light and easy. Bathing suits, Shorts, t-shirts, slacks, casual skirts, blouses and sundresses are all perfect during the day, whether indoors or out. A nice little black dress for night or two out on the town is also a must have. Keep your shoes comfortable and simple. 

For lounging by the pool, pack two bathing suits (an extra suit in case the other is wet) and a pair of casual shoes such as sandels or flip flops. You'll also need a cover-up  or sarong for getting to and from the pool areas. There are some great swim dresses that can be both a swimsuit and a casual dress for strolling around a boat or along a boardwalk.

And of course you can't forget to pack the lingerie!

The new tattooed Barbie doll with her trendy leopard leggings, pink bob hair style, stylish Goth inspired tee, and some beautiful permanent tattoos on her chest and neck has some parents in an uproar. This newest Barbie  is not going over well with many parents on both sides of the issue,  being a role model or being free to express oneself.

          I for one think parents are going overboard on this issue. Tattooing has been around for eons and in the last decade has fast become a beautiful art form. I agree that some people do go overboard with tattooing their bodies, but that is their choice.

There are some very beautiful tattoo artists out there that never cease to amaze me with the awesome inking that they do on all parts of the body creating masterpieces of art.        

Look around Mom…….almost everyone you see has a tattoo now a days and I wouldn’t doubt if half the moms that are complaining about this edgy doll have a tattoo themselves.

Your seven year old isn’t going to run out and get a tattoo because her Barbie doll has one. She will have to wait until she is of legal age to get one and by then who knows what the new trendy style will be.

The doll reflectes modern fashion and pop culture.

Just look at  Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry or Rihanna, these pop stars have tattoos and wear wigs and crazy clothes all the time. This is pop culture the way it really is. Barbie is a toy and is not raising your daughters……..you as a responsible parent are. So lighten up Mom, it’s just a toy doll.

Halloween costumes have been  traditionally modeled after supernatural figures such as monsters, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils. Over time, the costumes started to expand to include popular characters from fiction and celebrities. Now we have beautiful sexy costumes to taunt and flaunt your assets.

Dressing up in costumes  became popular for Halloween parties in the US in the early 20th century and was and still is as popular for adults as it is for children. Well, you might not have to go far, they may be closer to home than you think……New Jersey, Florida, the Rockies to name a few places.

The Jersey Devil

A flying monster with bat wings, sharp claws with the head of a horse. Legend has it that the Jersey Devil is the cursed 13th child to be born to a woman known as Mother Leeds who transformed into a hideous beast shortly after birth and fled into the forest. Sighting continue to this day. The Jersey Devil is alleged to have been roaming the pine barrens  and towns of Southern New Jersey since the 18th century.

Skunk Apes are hairy creatures that stand between 5-8 feet tall and smell of bad body odor and rotten eggs. They are said to inhabit the swamps and forests of Southeast Florida, especially in Everglades National Park.  According to cryptozoologists, you can lure a Skunk Ape with dried lima beans!

Big Foot (AKA Sasquatch)

Big Foot or Sasquatch is a 7-10 foot man-ape covered in hair (not fur) that has been described as brown, red, and black with only the face being exposed without much hair. They allegedly possess extraordinary physical strength and agility and communicate with one another by banging rocks or sticks together along with blood-curdling screams.

They have been part of Native American folklore for centuries. Bigfoot encounters have been reported in every state with the exception of Hawaii. The mountainous western areas of the United States and Canada are the best regions to go looking for this big hairy and scary creature.

The El Chupacabra (the goat sucker)

Some say the el Chupacbra is a dog-like creature and others depict it as an upright human/reptile hybrid with large red eyes and quill-like spines running along it’s back. It is said to hop like a kangaroo on steroids.

El Chupacbra was first reported in Puerto Rico in 1995 when eight dead sheep were found, all drained of blood from puncture wounds in their chests. Sightings along with brutal animal slayings have spread to other countries as well such as Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

So, as you dress up the Halloween, whether it be in a sexy witch costume or a colorful clown costume and head out to your Halloween party, think about those scary monsters and ghouls that might be lurking in the shadows.

Let’s face it….sex sells, and your smart business people know that. It’s been going on for centuries,  businesses using sex appeal to sell their products.

This Lucky Strike Cigarette Ad just oozes sex appeal as does these other vintage advertisements from Ridgid, Coca-Cola and Tyrell.

Today’s society is no different and the businessman or woman is still using sex appeal to sell their products, only things are going further than just sexy posters these days. For Centuries you could find women dressed in lingerie in Saloons, bars, nightclubs, gentleman’s clubs, and exotic dance clubs. But in the last ten years it has been expanding into uncharted territory.

I remember ten years or so ago when bikini clad women were selling hot dogs on the streets with their hot dog carts and making quite a small fortune for themselves, until they became a traffic hazard and many cities put a stop to it.

Now a new wave of Lingerie Clad women are hitting the fast food business…..Baristas!

Yes, drive thru coffee shops with sexy women in bustiers, corsets, sexy stockings and stiletto heels brewing your morning cup of coffee.

It’s become quite controversial and  some cities are cracking down and putting a stop to it.

Many people feel that it is inappropriate for young women to serve coffee in very little clothing, while others question whether or not this type of coffee shop is violating local ordinances, and hope they will soon be shut down.

Other people when interviewed revealed that they would boycott these coffee shops since some have signs such  as “Topless Tuesdays” and “Bottomless Wednesdays”, where customers could receive free refills on their coffee.

However, towns have no right to interfere as long as it is  not violating any ordinances, and it definitely attracts customers like crazy.

With summer here and the ice cream trucks in full swing, we can’t leave them out in their efforts to jump on the band wagon with lingerie or bikini clad women selling ice cream. 

Midtown Manhatten tongues have been wagging about Chrissy (Miss Softee) Michaels, the charming ice cream lady known for dishing good humor while clad in sexy clothing.

Another new style swimsuit on the market this season is the Swim Dress. It is perfect for someone who wants more coverage the usual swimsuit or to use as a Maternity Swimsuit. They are Romantic, sexy and flirty, and will make you feel so beautiful. They are the perfect sun dress to hang out at the pool  in or walk along the boardwalk. With bikini season just around the corner, many of you may be thinking about waxing instead of shaving. It used to be that hair removal was strictly a female thing, but not anymore.
